This year TTG has been awarded funding to deliver TWO Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship Multiple Trades Exposure Programs. One will be held in Stratford, Ontario, starting in April, 2019 and one will be held in Clinton, Ontario, starting in August, 2019.
These programs are a great opportunity for people who are interested in becoming a Welder, Metal Fabricator or General Machinist. The programs are FREE and are designed to help participating trainees develop the job skills and trade readiness needed to secure an apprenticeship and start a career in the skilled trades.
Programs are geared towards people who are unemployed, underemployed, working part-time, recent high school graduates (or graduating in June this year) who are interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades.
These 25-week programs will be held in the evenings Monday-Thursday (and every other Saturday). Training includes in-school theory, hands-on practical training and an 8-week paid work placement with an area employer. The primary trade exposure is Welding/Metal Fabricating (120 hours), with secondary exposure to General Machining (60 hours).
